Mashamaite's 28th minute goal saw Chiefs edge fierce rivals Orlando Pirates 1-0 in the MTN8 decider on Saturday night.
"It's a thing of beauty. This is something one day you will look back at and say 'I lived that experience before,'" says Mashamaite.
"The secret is never to be satisfied. You win the MTN8 and next Saturday you lose and the momentum goes down, so this is done and dusted. What's next is a League game (against Maritzburg United) and the next competition which is the Telkom (Knockout).
"We just do not want to derail what we have started. It is a beautiful project and you can top it off by having a good season."
Mashamaite captained Chiefs in the absence of injured goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune at the weekend. The former Bidvest Wits skipper was humbled to be given the opportunity by coach Stuart Baxter.
"I'm very humbled. Firstly I'm the member of the team before I'm an individual.
"At Chiefs we have got like seven leaders in the team, if not eleven. I was just lucky enough to lead the team and it could have been Yeye, Shabba, Morgan, Tshepo, Pa. We have great leaders in there.
"And for me I still have to take some time out and reflect on tonight and I will be able to say what this means to me as an individual."
