Amakhosi ovecame a 2-0 deficit to sink Komphela's former club and set up a semi-final clash with Bloemfontein Celtic later this month.
"We are the champions and the message we sent last night coming from two goals down was emphatic from the players saying - we are the current champions,” Komphela told Chiefs' website.
"To show character, good display of football, Chiefs’ way of play, playing without stress and easy on the eye and winning, that’s the Chiefs way.”
Meanwhile, defender Siboniso Gaxa expects a stern test in the two legs against Celtic, starting on the weekend of August 15/16.
"It is always tough playing against Celtic since I joined Chiefs. It will be tough for them as well. We will have to check them and prepare well for the match."
Ajax Cape Town will face Bidvest Wits in the other last-four tie.
