Mandla Masango says Kaizer Chiefs don't fear Orlando Pirates

There have been suggestions that he plot for this weekend's game which comes on a Soweto Derby dishing could be different but Masango maintains that they have stuck to doing what has won them the nine games that they have played so far.

“We have prepared the same way for this game, the same way that we prepare for other games,” he says.

“Maybe there is a slight difference in the sense that most teams don't play the same way because Pirates is different to a team like Bloemfontein Celtic but there is not so much of a difference in the game plan. For us the major plan is to be the winners on Saturday,” says Masango.

The on-form midfielder also noted that they will play according to the coach's instructions with the mission of scoring more than their opponents.

“Every time we play we obviously want to go out there and score more goals whilst trying to make sure that we don't concede. We will go out there and execute the coach's game plan,” he says while adding that Stuart Baxter's gesture of handing his Absa Coach of the Month Award to assistant coach Doctor Khumalo has taught him the true values of team work.

“This has taught me that football is not about individuals but a collective effort from the team. Doc has been working hard behind the scenes without being acknowledged so I think it is a good motivation for myself and the other guys in admitting that we need each other in this game. It is not about I but we,” he says.

Masango has scored five goals in all competitions this season and is enjoying his best form at Chiefs since arriving in 2007.
