Team of Choice coach Mandla Ncikazi has been busy putting his troops through a rigorous training regime, with numerous running drills, as he aims to get the better of his friend and former colleague Steve Komphela.
Moholo, who spent last season on loan at Chippa United from Orlando Pirates, says the team is well set for their high-profile match-up at the FNB Stadium, and hopes to capitalise on what he feels is a weakness in the Chiefs backline.
"We have prepared well for this game; it’s a big game of course and I think we are ready," he says.
"Knowing Kaizer Chiefs is a big team, it is all about adjusting as a player and as a team.
"I have noticed their defence is not strong enough and we have to capitalise in terms of counter-attack; they are not as quick and they have many injuries as well."
The 29-year-old, who previously played under Steve Komphela while at Free State Stars, feels his side have a slight advantage in understanding Komphela's way of thinking.
"He has coached me at Free Stars, so I know his thinking and what he wants to do, and I think all of us are [aware]," he says.
"As players we want to spoil the party for him, and why not on this big occasion? That will lay down our own mark."
Maritzburg may however be without fellow new signing Evans Rusike who is still awaiting his work permit.
Kick off at the FNB Stadium is set for 19:30.
