Timm sends message to Bucs fans after MTN8 success

Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm was delighted to deliver the MTN8 title for the supporters after the disappointment of the Soweto Derby last weekend.

Pirates clinched their MTN8 crown after edging AmaZulu 1-0 in the final courtesy of a stunning free-kick goal by Monnapule Saleng.

Timm, who was named Man of the Match, hopes the MTN8 success makes up for the loss to their bitter rivals.

"This is the best supporters, they kept us going and I'll always give my best for them, whether we win or lose, we know we disappointed you last week and I hope you're happy now. The best team in the world!" Timm told SuperSport TV.

"God has given us this gift and the responsibility to make people happy, I know they have their nine-to-five jobs, we only work two hours a day and I personally take responsibility to give my all.

"I make myself feel like I'm working nine-to-five, I take care of myself and I try as best as possible to live and breathe Orlando Pirates."

Timm went on to express his emotions of playing for the club and says he feels vindicated after some doubts when he was initially signed from Marumo Gallants.

"I know people doubted me when I signed here and the chairman and I know why I wanted to come here and I wasn't scared, I want to compete for every trophy that's on offer. And this is the fruits of all the hard work and the belief and we gonna fight for more and more," he said.

The former Gallants midfielder also explained the importance of winning the final after losing the Soweto derby against Kaizer Chiefs last week, with the league going into recess until the end of the year.

"It was important to get this trophy, we're going into a long break, it wasn't going to sit well with us to wait a month-and-half to play another game.

"And because of our hard work and our belief, it's so hard to come back from a derby loss, the spirit this week was amazing, when I got home I told my wife, 'I've never seen us train and prepare this well' and it showed today," he added.
