The Urban Warriors were knocked out of the cup after going down 2-0 to the Buccaneers on Saturday evening.
The Turkish tactician believes his side were not clinical enough to get something out of the game and congratulated the Buccaneers for their display especially in the second half.
“Firstly, well done to Orlando Pirates, second half was marvelous, brilliant. They made a level of good entries but the first 30 minutes we dominated them completely. They didn’t know where to go. We blocked them well,” Ertugral told SuperSport TV.
“What happened then if I’m not mistaken is 200% goal chances, if one goes in it’s a completely different game. We would close the game again and they won’t have any entries more.
“We can talk about tactics, systems, organisations but first 30 minutes we had Orlando Pirates completely not having entries at all. Unfortunately in this game if you concede one then you have to open tactically and from that opening they had the second one immediately after the break. I think it’s well deserved in the second half especially. They played very well.”
The former Orlando Pirates coach was asked whether the loss would be a set-back going forward.
“I don’t think so it’s important that we get our chances, we are a team that has a certain degree of possibilities. Obviously we changed a lot tonight and gave others opportunities. In the end, I can be very happy about what I saw in the first half. We need to be a little bit clinical like what we did the last time and that would have changed the game to another level. But again we’ll done to Pirates," he added.
