Baroka assistant coach Donald Makhubedu to stand in for suspended Kgoloko Thobejane

Thobejane has been suspended for unconfirmed reports of misbehaviour following their 2-0 Absa Premiership defeat to Free State Stars last weekend.

The news of his suspension has been confirmed by club chairman Morgan Mammila, who refused to divulge the reason behind the decision, pending a disciplinary hearing "next week".

"He has just been suspended today because the team was off yesterday. There's rumours about something they say happened at Free State Stars, no its not that. If it was that we would have suspended him long time ago," Mammila tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"This is about an in-house story – it's a family matte. You can't tell your next-door neighbour that, 'Hey, my husband is not sleeping with me nicely'.

"You will just say, 'Hey, I've got a problem in this house', then you'll be relieved because atleast you've said something."

Meanwhile, Mammila further confirmed that Thobejane will definitely miss their Nedbank Cup clash against Dikwena next Wednesday evening, with Makhubela and Multichoice Diski Challenge coach Matsimela Thoka set to take charge.

"He's not going to sit on the bench. The assistant coach [Makhubedu] and MDC coach [Thoka] will be on the bench," Mammila tells snl24.com/kickoff, before assuring that technical director Doctor Khumalo will remain in the stands.
