Baroka FC interim coach Macdonald Makhubedu will meet Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup again

Makhubedu, who questioned the quality of the Chiefs side after Acornbush lost 2-1, says he expects a very difficult Chiefs side in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.

Last year Amakhosi were rescued by a brace from Gustavo Paez after Rhulani Sidumo had given Acornbush a first half lead.

Makhubedu, however, apologised for his utterances.

"Tough one," Makhubedu tells snl24.com/kickoff. "Acornbush and Baroka are two different teams. Here we play and work hard for results. With Acornbush we were sure of beating anyone, that is why we were bad losers on that day [against Chiefs], and it was our first loss in 35 months.

“Even Cape Town City were number one [back then in the Psl] and played us before we played Chiefs, but they couldn't handle us. And we went to the Chiefs game with too much confidence and that killed us. But now Steve [Komphela] is doing well and they are a tough side, better than last season."

Dates and venues for the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals are yet to be announced.
