Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma has admitted to suffering long-lasting pain from the club's 2019 Nedbank Cup final defeat to TS Galaxy.
Kaizer Chiefs are currently on a trophy drought that extends back to the 2014/15 season when the club was crowned domestic league champions, with the Amakhosi falling agonizingly short in the 2019 Nedbank Cup and 2020 CAF Champions League finals since then.
In the case of the former competition, the Soweto giants were stunned by then-GladAfrica Championship side TS Galaxy in a defeat that still haunts Bruce Bvuma, who featured in goal for Chiefs on the night.
"The Nedbank Cup is one of the competitions where I managed to get my breakthrough," he told the club's media team. "I started playing and earned the coaches' trust and it was in this cup when I started doing my best and performing.
"I know how big it is and I know how important it is. As a team, we are looking forward to it. We know TS Galaxy and we know how they play and I believe we've prepared and we are ready for them..."
"In terms of experiences, the last one that I played was painful. That's when we lost to TS Galaxy in the final back in 2019. So, we're looking forward to playing against them and going all the way and winning this one."
