EC Bees coach Chippa Njedu says his side conceded soft goals against Mamelodi Sundowns

After taking an early lead through Joseph Chikili, the Eastern Cape side fell short at the start of the second half to concede two goals, with Hlompho Kekana and Thapelo Morena finding the net after the break.

Njedu claims the two goals his side conceded in the second half were soft.

“I would like to say well done to my boys and also to Sundowns. First half, I think we did well although we didn’t play the way we wanted, but we managed to get a goal," Njedu told SuperSport TV.

“In the second half, we gave them a soft goal within two minutes. I think we respected them too much in the second half.

“We gave them another soft goal after 75 minutes after we told them in the dressing room that they were going to come at us with crosses. But it’s part of football. We’ll learn from our mistakes,” he said post-match.

“We told them at halftime we need to maintain the lead and we told them they were going to come looking for the goal especially in the first five minutes. But I think we allowed them to come at us as a result and we were punished,” he added.
