Larsen doubts Chiefs can stop Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns from claiming league honours, therefore the Soweto giants' last chance of winning silverware this season under Komphela rests in the Nedbank Cup.
"We always have very close games with them and this one will be no different,” said Larsen, whose side played to a goalless draw with Amakhosi in September.
“This is not a league game and all the pressure is on them to win the trophy. It doesn't look like they'll win the league, so all the pressure is on them winning this cup.
"So I think all the pressure is on Kaizer Chiefs for this game which is a good thing for us.
“They are probably saying to themselves that if Sundowns continues to get results the chances of catching them are very slim. So they’ll put all the focus in trying to win this cup.
“In the same vein, we have to really, really put out our A-game for Kaizer Chiefs because, like I said, I think they’ll throw everything into this in trying to win this cup.”
Larsen has noticed how some of his players have stepped up their efforts in training ahead of the contest at FNB Stadium.
“We see that with the younger players especially, in this case where our MultiChoice Diski team is not playing on the same weekend that we have a game,” he says.
“Usually it is very challenging. We got a very young group of players, so when the Diski players are playing we are a little bit thin. But it’s not the case this weekend and they don’t play until later this month.
“That means we got all eligible players for selection and we can see in their eyes at training that they want to grab the jersey.”
Larsen confirmed that Andile Fikizolo, who broke his foot late last year, is out for the rest of the season.
