Nelukau's side was instead drawn against Marumo Gallants with the Brazilians pitted against Royal AM.
"I didn't have a problem if we had to be drawn against Sundowns," Nelukau said.
"I wanted to knock them out of the competition. I wanted them now.
"I wanted Sundowns to come to Thohoyandou and they don't know that they are actually lucky as I wish we had drawn them.
"I have confidence in my boys, who listen to their coaches and I am happy with the level of discipline in my players.
"I am fine with the draw even though I wanted to face Sundowns.
"My boys are hungry and they want to bring the trophy back to Tshakuma.
"You saw it against Supersport United, we were on fire. Supersport were leading 2-0 at halftime and during our team talk, I reminded them that they can still win the match.
"We are going all the way to the final. We want to win this trophy."
