Memela, who was backed by many to get a Bafana Bafana call-up, failed a late fitness test before the team flew out to the Mother City yesterday. The Soweto giants face the Citizens at Cape Town Stadium tonight (19h30).
According to the Pirates website, Memela has been receiving treatment on an ankle injury he sustained in a friendly match during the weekend.
The Pirates medical team is working tirelessly to ensure the former Cape Town All Stars player is available for the side’s next Absa Premiership match against Golden Arrows. They visit Arrows at Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday (20h15).
