Makhanya: Royal AM can stop Sundowns

The two sides will face each other in the competition's semi-finals which will see the league leaders go up against the second-placed side on 30 April 2022 at Chatsworth Stadium.

"I feel it's going to be a good game," Makhanya tells KickOff.

"I mean we are talking about first against second in the DStv Premiership log standings here.

"We have seen that Royal AM are the comeback kings where if you score three goals they'll score four.

"So obviously, they will be playing against the league champions and a team to look out for in South Africa because they play entertaining football.

"They've also proven to be a powerhouse for a very long time now.

"The three coaches have stepped up to the plate and they have made serious contributions to Sundowns with the continuity they have built from the previous coach.

"Royal AM have also been doing well so I feel it's the final before the final.

"For now, they are the strongest candidate to stop Sundowns.

"Whoever wins that match between Royal AM and Sundowns stands the better chance to lift the trophy.

"But Sundowns are proving to be too strong man, and are at the same time playing a good brand of football."
