Sekhukhune United advanced to the Nedbank Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 win over Chippa United on Sunday afternoon.
Chippa handed Decide Chauke a full debut with Khanyisile Mayo starting too, as Sekhukhune's match-winner against Maritzburg United Sibusiso Vilakazi started on the bench.
In a fast opening, Babina Noko needed a minute to get going where uncertain bit of defending from the Chilli Boys allowed Elias Mokwana to play a quick one-two and profit from a tight angle.
Chippa's interim coach Siyabulela Gwambi was forced to introduce a substitution six minutes in as young Mayo went stretchered off and saw Ronaldo Maarman come on in his place.
However, the early change didn't affect the Chilli Boys momentum and thus levelled before the 20th minute when Etiosa Ighodaro applied a towering leap to head in.
Babina Noko looked to regain control a little from surrendering, but found Chippa goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili alert as he tucked out every threat.
Sekhukhune did manage to go ahead over three minutes before halftime when Chibuike Ohizu caught the visitors napping and headed in a pin-point cross from Mokwana.
The Chilli Boys looked to draw level early from the halftime interval, but struggled to breakdown Babina Noko at the back and continued to trail.
Zimbabwean Ighodaro went close with a header at the midway phase of the second half though nodded wide of the top-corner following a cross from the right-side.
Babina Noko stayed compact over the last 20 minutes and nearly got a third through a counter-attack by Vusimuzi Mncube, but Nwabili courted the attacker.
Sekhukhune still enjoyed the clearer chances as the minutes ticked by, but didn't capitalise and secured the win regardless as well as a last four spot.
