Richards Bay FC chairman Jomo Biyela has exclusively revealed to Kickoff.com why his club will easily accept a defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns compared to other Premier Soccer League teams.

The KwaZulu-Natal-based club will host African football giants Sundowns in the last 32 Nedbank Cup fixture taking place today 6pm.

The two clubs will square off at the Princess Magogo Stadium and a lot of fireworks are expected as they both lead their respective leagues.

Last season the Natal Richboyz caused the biggest upset in the last 32 stage of the competition beating another giant in Kaizer Chiefs.

"We are ready but at the same time, teams are not the same," Biyela tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"I think Sundowns at the moment is the best team in South Africa, and they are one of the best teams in Africa.

"From our side, we play to learn from them and take whatever we learned from them back to our quest of gaining promotion in the GladAfrica Championship.

"What I'm trying to say is Sundowns is one of the best teams, but whatever game we play, we play to win.

"But there won't be any disappointment if we lose against Sundowns, because we all know Sundowns is the best team.

"This season, our first season will be the league, to get promotion that is our priority.

"Nedbank also we don't mind going to the finals. But we are prioritising the league over everything.

"Yes it means a lot because Richards Bay is only four years old, So for Richards Bay to play the big giants like Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns, it shows that there is something right that we are doing. But obvious Richards Bay wins 1 - 0," he said.
