Word reaching this publication is that two Betway Premiership clubs are neck-and-neck in the tussle to win the services of out-of-favour Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm.
Timm joined Pirates from Marumo Gallants in 2022 and extended his stay at the Soweto giants, which includes an option for a further year, in June 2024.
He has, however, been on the periphery this season, a concerning situation considering his age.
Injuries have also hindered the midfielder's progress, leading to him losing his position to the likes of Makhehlene Makhaula and Thalente Mbatha, and in recent times the likes of Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Goodman Mosele have come back into the picture.
According to a source, AmaZulu FC and Sekhukhune United are planning to make an offer for Timm's signature.
Both teams are understood to have already enquired about the 33-year-old's availability as he has fallen out of favor at Bucs, and are expected to take action ahead of the new season.
When he left Gallants, he initially chose to join Pirates despite being heavily linked with Sekhukhune United.
"Both clubs are monitoring the player's situation at Pirates very closely, especially since the club still has an option for an additional year," a source told KickOff.com.
"The thing is, Pirates have not yet made a decision on the player's future. With the coach leaving, things might change a bit, though the chances are slim, I must say."

During his three-year stay with the club, Timm has won three MTN8 trophies and one Nedbank Cup with the side.
