Broos on Mofokeng: I'm a bit afraid...

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has revealed his fears of rising star Relebohile Mofokeng and explained why he believes the 20-year-old will not be an Orlando Pirates player for long.

Mofokeng has had a sensational second season in top-flight football. His contribution of eight goals and eleven assists in 28 appearances this season has blossomed him into one of the country's hottest prospects.

Unsurprisingly, his performances have attracted interest from abroad. Barcelona has made informal inquiries into Mofokeng, while Rangers in Scotland are also believed to be admirers.

Speaking to journalists media round-table at Safa House in Nasrec on Thursday, Broos revealed his hopes for the young star, as well some concerns.

"Speaking about Mofokeng, I just hope that he makes the right decisions,  that he is not going to a team where he won't play," the Belgian mentor said.

"When I see all the things around him; Barcelona, Rangers — I'm a bit afraid and I hope the people around him make the choice for the best sporting solution and not the best financial solution."

"I don't have the same influence as the people around him. But let's hope, will see. will be the best for him, I'm sure.

"I think his parents want the best for him, for sure. But there's another guy (an agent) who wants to make a lot of money too and that's a problem. But okay, maybe I'm speaking too soon now about that.

"I think in June, 'Rele' will not be a player of Pirates anymore, but a good choice is important."
