Manamela: Appollis is the missing piece of the puzzle at Pirates

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Sepeke Manamela believes that the team will be unbeatable with Oswin Appollis in their line-up.

The Bafana Bafana and Polokwane City star is being strongly linked to a move to the Buccaneers, especially after rivals Kaizer Chiefs showed reluctance to sign him.

Manamela claims that the Buccaneers will be unstoppable with Appollis, stating that he is even better than Relebohile Mofokeng and Patrick Maswanganyi combined.

"Appollis is a player for the future, and people should keep an eye on him," Manamela told KickOff.

"I hear everyone talking about Mofokeng, and I have no issue with that—he is a good player. They also mention Tito, who is talented, but just watch Appollis; one day you will remember this conversation. It's simply that he is currently playing for a smaller team.

"I'm thrilled if he has signed with Pirates. If you watch his performances for the national team, he has been outstanding. He consistently brings his best," the former midfielder added.

"It's not easy to perform at a high level, week in and week out when playing for a smaller team.

"However, when you are with a big team like Tito and Mofokeng, you are surrounded by quality players, which makes it easier to excel.

"So, if a player comes from a smaller team like Polokwane City and can still shine as a regular member of the national team, it means he is truly special.

"He will fit in perfectly at Orlando Pirates. It's like completing a puzzle, he is the missing piece. His signing will give the coach more options, and he is sure to shine."
