Maswanganyi: 'It's bad for the team'

Midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi has lamented his side's failure to collect all three points as Orlando Pirates played to a goalless draw against Richards Bay.

The Buccaneers slipped out of the top eight after they were held to a draw by The Natal Richboys at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Saturday.

A win against Bay would have handed Pirates their third straight win in five matches for the first time this season.

Speaking to the club's media after the match, Maswanganyi admitted that the runoff inconsistency is 'bad' for the team

"It's very disappointing, especially because we had started winning and now we drop points again," Maswanganyi said.

"I think it's bad for the team, also for us players and for the fans. We are very disappointed with the results.

"Things didn't come together because in the first half we started a bit slow, losing too many balls and we stared getting into the game late.

"it's always difficult coming into the game in the second half at such a big stadium but that's not an excuse for us as players. We want to win. We gave or best to win but it didn't come."

Makaringe added: "A very disappointing results for us as The Bucs family. We stuck together even though we it wasn't going to be easy. Yes, it's not enough to play a draw away because The Bucs need the points but a very good performance from the team."

Pirates return to action when they host Moroka Swallows at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday, 5 December.
