Additionally, they are in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup and the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League as the season draws to a close.

However, the Spaniards' future is hanging in the air with his initial three-year deal set to expire at the end of June.

Indications are that the Soweto giants are likely offer Riveiro a fresh deal, but things are not as straight forward as they may seem.

Whether the coach – who has spent a lengthy time away from his family in Spain – would be open to that possibility remains to be seen.

Speaking on the latest episode of Bucs Camp aired on SuperSport TV, both captain Tapelo Xoki and assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi expressed their desire to see the tactician stay beyond the current season.

"We've built a strong powerhouse in terms of the team that we have assembled over the last three years, and it won't sit well with many of us for him to leave and it will unsettle a lot of things. I hope he doesn't leave," pleaded centre-back Xoki.

Meanwhile, Ncikazi added: "Whether the coach leaves or stays at the end of the current season is anybody's guess at the moment.
