BREAKING: Pirates confirm second player exit

Following the exit of striker Souaibou Marou on Monday, Orlando Pirates have confirmed the exit of another player whose contract was set to expire at the end of June.

In a brief statement published on the club's official website on Tuesday, it was confirmed that the versatile midfielder's stay at Rand Stadium would not be extended beyond the 2023/24 season, making Makaringe now a free agent.

The 31-year-old joined Pirates from Maritzburg United in 2019 as one of the hottest properties in South African football. 'Ebumnandini' would go on to make 147 appearances for the Sea Robbers, contributing 10 goals and nine assists.

In final campaign for Pirates, Makaringe featured 14 times, registering one goal and one assist.

He becomes the second of what is expected to be a string of exits at The Buccaneers camp as head coach Jose Riverio looks to replenish his squad of the Spaniards' third season as the helm.

Following four incredible seasons and over 140 matches, our journey with the 31-year-old midfielder has come to an end.
