Bucs travelled to Algeria to face MC Alger in the CAF Champions League quarterfinal first leg ranked outside the top 10 in Africa by Footballdatabase website.

Prior to their Champions League group stage campaign, they were lowly-ranked on the continent and were outside the top 30.
A 1-0 away victory over Alger has seen them enter the top 10 for the first time, as they climbed up to eighth.
Alger, who were above Jose Riveiro's men in the rankings, have dropped down to 16th.
Pirates' rise in the rankings this season has been remarkable, gaining a total of 194 points on a one-year average.
Sundowns, meanwhile, were in danger of being caught by Esperance in second position in Africa. However, a 1-0 win over the Tunisian giants in the Champions League quarter-final first leg has seen them open a 25-point gap between themselves and The Red and Yellow, who are third.
On a year average, however, the Tshwane giants have actually dropped 19 points, as they are currently 50 points behind leaders in the African rankings, Al Ahly.
Pyramids FC, who are heavy favourites to face the winner between The Buccaneers and Alger in the semi-finals, having thrashed FAR Rabat 4-1 in the Champions League quarterfinal first leg, climbed up to fourth.

The Egyptian outfit have also been rising exponentially in the rankings, as they have gained 151 points on a year average.
Stellenbosch FC appear to be punching above their weight, as after a goalless draw against Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal first leg, they find themselves ranked 45th in Africa, compared to The Royal White Knights, who are rated ninth.
