Makhaula, who is set to turn 36 years old in November this year, has enjoyed fine form since joining the Soweto giants in 2023.
The Mohlakeng-born midfielder remains the oldest player at Pirates and is followed by Dion Hotto who set to turn 35 in October this year.

"It's true that Makhaula's contract with Pirates will expire in June, but the club is busy finalizing his contract and will be invited to sign soon," said the source.
