Timm opens up on facing rivals Chiefs

Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm has opened up about getting the chance to face Kaizer Chiefs as the sides prepare to lock horns in the Carling Black Label Cup this weekend.

Timm was a notable absentee in the last Soweto Derby fixture in October due to suspension from accumulated yellow cards and has revealed that he's relishing the opportunity to face Chiefs.

"I'm excited to be available for selection. I watched from the stands with my teammates and it's not nice to not contribute," the midfielder said.

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane previously said that the absence of the Timm was a big advantage in helping Amakhosi defeated the Buccaneers, but the midfielder insists his presence would have made little difference.

"I don't' think so," Timm said.

"I've said before, we could have lost [even] if I was there, so I don't think it made much of a difference. Like I said, there were little details as a team that were not done well on the day and we're looking to correct them this weekend."

Pirates will take on Chiefs in the second game of the Carling Black Label Cup scheduled to kick off at 12:00 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. The winner will face either AmaZulu or Mamelodi Sundowns in the final at 17:00.

The Buccaneers will go into match beaming with confidence following their recent triumph of the MTN8 and will be motivated to avenge October's defeat to Amakhosi.

For Chiefs, the titanic encounter presents an opportunity to secure a fourth consecutive win over Pirates and a second straight win in the space of just three weeks.
