Otladisa delighted by warm Buccaneers welcome

Midfielder Katlego Otladisa has expressed his delight over a warm welcome and opened up on his start to life as an Orlando Pirates player.

The silky midfielder signed by the Buccaneers on the back of an impressive 22/23 campaign with an exciting Marumo Gallants side that progressed as far as the semi-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup.

Otladisa made 43 appearances across all competitions last season, providing six assists and Pirates had to fend off interest from several top-flight clubs to sign him.

Although still finding his feet at Rand Stadium, with just seven appearances under his belt, the 27-year-old has been pleasantly surprised by a warm reception at the Soweto Giants.

"I've been welcomed with warms arms, obviously some of the guys I played with them, some of the guys I'm familiar around them, so yeah. It's been really just a warm welcoming from the gents all round, and the staff.

"Everyone wants to play for the big club, one of the biggest issues in Africa so yeah it's a great feeling."

In his short stay, Otladisa has already tasted silverware in the form of the MTN8.

"It  was really an overwhelming feeling (winning rhe MTN8), it's always nice winning something, especially like the first cup that is up for grabs in the league, so yeah, a overwhelming feeling and it was really nice," added Otladisa.

The attacker has already provided one assist and is aiming to improve those numbers.

"I'm looking at a target of providing assists for the team, getting goals for the team and getting more minutes," Otladisa added.

"Hopefully another cup for the team, just to top it all off."

Pirates return to action with a DStv Premiership action when they take on Richards Bay at King Zwelithini Stadium. Kick-off is at 15:30.
