The Mighty Buccaneers needed three points to close the gap between themselves and Masandawana in the race for the league championship, but now sit nine points adrift.
Pirates will get a chance to redeem themselves when hosting Motsepe Foundation Championship side Baroka FC in a Nedbank Cup Last 16 encounter at Orlando stadium on Saturday.
Head coach Jose Riveiro believes there is still more to play for this season despite dropping three points in the capital.
"This is game number 14, we have to play 16 games. We have to play in the Champions League, we have to play the Nedbank Cup. This was just one game," asserted the Spaniard in the post-match press conference.
"Obviously, it is not nice to lose 4-1, it's not nice to lose here because we came here with the intention to win and collect points. Today it's not gonna be easy for any of us, but tomorrow we go again, we have to play Baroka on the weekend. We need to continue with our record in the Nedbank Cup as well.
