Riveiro not losing sleep over Sundowns...

Head coach Jose Riveiro has explained why he won't be losing any sleep over Orlando Pirates surrendering top spot to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Betway Premiership log table following a defeat to Stellenbosch FC.

Pirates slipped down to second on goal difference after suffering their first defeat of the season courtesy of a Devin Titus strike in the first half at Orlando Stadium on Sunday.

Just a day prior, rivals and defending league champions Sundowns had gone top of the table on goal difference after a dominant 3-0 win over Sekhukhune United.

As things stand, the Soweto giants and their Tshwane rivals are level on 21 points and eight wins after eight matches.

The Brazilians have scored 18, whereas Pirates have netted 13 in the same period.

"We have the same number of points. Goal difference is putting us up and down, [but] it's only eight games. We have to play 30 games.

"Trust me, we, in the group, we know how difficult it's going to be, how difficult it's going to be to win every game.

"We want to compete, we want to be there until the last game with options to finish in the top and that's the time that we will analyse.

"Obviously, we would like to be on top with 10 points of advantage, understanding this league because of the level of the opponents, right now it's not possible.

"So, I'm not frustrated at all. The first defeat came today [against Stellenbosch]. I think we beat Chippa 2-1 here in the 95th [minute] when it was close to being a draw... some other games [too].

"Today we didn't perform to lose this match (poorly), but it happens, no drama, we prepare for the next one. You can be sure this group will fight until the last game," said the Spaniard.

"We have the same amount of points, exactly the same."
