Jwara-Bucs: The league is still in our hands

In this week's edition of Supporters Forum, Orlando Pirates prominent supporter Phillip 'Jwara-Bucs' Jwara reflects on the club's season so far.

Jwara believes his beloved Buccaneers can still win the treble this season.

Pirates still have a slim chance of winning the Premier Soccer League title, and they are also in the semi-finals of both the Nedbank Cup and the CAF Champions League.

"Our focus is on three cups now since the league is also still in our hands, we believe we can win it because the Sundowns teams of the two previous seasons were not like this current one ekorwa ngisho nangama amateur," Jwara tells KickOff.

"Pirates must just continue to hang in there because it's not over until the last game of the league. Anything can still happen. I haven't thrown in the towel yet.

"This issue of dropping points while Sundowns are winning, I think that's because of the carelessness of our players and the management.

"The management should be able to be the first one to notice if our players perfomance is dropping. We can't afford to drop our standard when we still have a CAF Champions League to fight for. We should be in our best form right now.

"Also, our players must make sure they defend the Nedbank Cup, they shouldn't go there in a relaxed mood. They mustn't forget we recently lost three points to Marumo Gallants," he added.

"Sunday's game against Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium is nothing but a league decider. We should go there to play a straight win, not a draw.

"If we win against Sundowns on Sunday, then everything will be in our hands; as supporters, we will continue playing our role by making sure they always play in front of a full house.

"We are tired of finishing in position 2, we want to finish as number 1 now."
