Why Riveiro won't change his playing style

Head coach Jose Riveiro has explained why he won't be changing his style of play as Orlando Pirates look to end a run of four matches without a win when they take on Sekhukhune United.

The Buccaneers have collected just one win in the last five league outings and Riveiro has come under some criticism from sections of Bucs supporters with calls for a change in tactics.

Additionally, Pirates have scored just four goals in their last four matches across all competitions and will be without leading goal scorer Zakhele Lepasa on Tuesday night when they host Babina Noko.

Speaking at the post-match press conference after the Carling Cup loss to Richards Bay, the Spaniard though, insisted that his side will stick to their guns.

"Well obviously it's very important (to win against Sekhukhune], firstly because we need three points, we need points," Riveiro said.

"We need to play a bad one game, we need to play really badly and win it, and not be fancy like we are now, with 80% of possession, and putting the opponent inside the goal and not scoring.

"Right now, I'd rather play a bad game and get three points and get a boost to go to the [Soweto] derby as good as possible but we don't want to do it in that way.

"We have our own way of doing things and trust me, we really want to win because it's important. It's important for the confidence of the players. It's important to our fans as well, to be more calm and happy for us.

"So, it goes without saying that the next game is very important for us."

The match will kick-off at 19:30.
