Polokwane City head coach Phuti Mohafe had some special praise for Man of the Match Tlou Nkwe after the 2-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs.
Rise and Shine climbed up to third in the standings thanks to goals by Oswin Appollis and Mokibelo Ramabu.
Mohafe says playing on counter-attacks worked well for them.
"We started under siege but we were able to defend well under the circumstances. We got one break attack, we went to the side and played a cross. We got a goal from Appollis, well done to him after such a long time he didn't score," Mohafe told SuperSport TV.
"Coming back, we said first half we have to go at them but after scoring and realizing that we're leading, 'let's sit back a little, keep a low block, we go out on transitions and if the turnovers are quick enough to hurt them, then let's continue doing that'
"It worked well for us towards the match where we had a good transition and we scored from it. Good shift from the players and I hope we can continue with this performance going forward."
When asked about the Man of the Match, he replied, "With Nkwe it has been coming, because almost every match it's either between him and [Thabang] Matuludi, between him and [Bulelani] Nikani, between him and [Lebohang] Nkaki, so for him today it's good that he came out tops," Mohafe said.
"The boy is working hard, so polite, so humble. The shift he put today, with Chiefs overloading on his side, I think he did well, because at some point there were three players on his side.
"We wanted to cheat with Appollis and we did well in those circumstances. The situation allowed him to be Man of the Match and we're thankful of him today."
