Polokwane City stand-in coach Phuti Mohafe sighted a few elements that indicated their short-comings in the defeat to Orlando Pirates in the DStv Premiership on Saturday.
The mentor believes they had the first half well in their grasp, but things went pear-shaped thereafter and highlighted how they failed to apply themselves and lost the edge.
"It was a tough encounter, I think according to me we controlled the first half and played well the first half, second half we lost a bit of the edge," Mohafe told SuperSport TV.

"We lost every second ball that we should've hold, we didn't apply ourselves correctly in terms of playing those balls behind the defence.
"And knowing that they are slow at the back and knowing that they are leaving those spaces at the back so our wing-play was not quite impressive. But I think those are the things we should work on during the week," he added.
On the goal, the coach signalled out poor man-marking and the hesitancy of goalkeeper Manuel Sapunga who was at odds whether to impose himself after the free-kick into the box.
Provided a tight defensive guard from all, the goal from Evidence Makgopa which proved to be the winner would've been avoided.
"I think it was a matter of a lost of concentration in terms of who has to mark who and Makgopa just lost the marker and put the ball where the keeper doesn't know whether to come out or not.
"He doubted whether he should come out or stay, he went out one step but he immediately went back so I thought if he had gone all out, maybe it could've disturbed Makgopa and that wasn't going to be a goal," he said.
The Buccaneers continued their winning run of form and face Cape Town Spurs in midweek before hosting fierce rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto derby next weekend.
