Fortunes finally change for Billiat

Khama Billiat's fortunes have changed for the better as he scored his fifth goal in eight matches to help Yadah salvage a draw on Saturday.

Yadah returned domestic action from the international break with a 1-1 draw against second-place Manica Diamonds on Saturday afternoon at Heart Stadium. Diamonds had opened the scoring through Charles Teguru before Billiat levelled matters in the second half.

It was only the third occasion that Diamonds had been held to a draw, while they have also only suffered just three defeats in 15 matches.

For Yadah, the match was an important step in the right direction, having come from a shock 1-0 defeat away to Kariba before the international break.

The Miracle Boys though are not out of danger. Saturday's result sees them stay on 14th on the Castle Lager Premier League table, but only four points above the bottom of the table Arenel Movers.

For Billiat, the goal marks a continuation of good fortunes, after he recently returned from a red card suspension for reportedly slapping an opposition player to score a brace for Yadah.

The 2015/16 PSL Footballer of the Season award winner's performances have also sparked conversation in Zimbabwe about a possible return to the national team Billiat had retired from international football but is now reportedly poised for what could be a huge twist.

Bafana Bafana recorded a 3-1 win over The Warriors during the international break as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
