Cape Town City have bolstered their squad with the acquisition of Angolan international goalkeeper Hugo Marques.
Marques arrives at the club as a free agent after parting ways with Portuguese second division side Farense at the end of his contract last season.
"The club is delighted to announce the signing of Portuguese-Angolan international goalkeeper Hugo Marques! Welcome Patrão," the club said in an official statement on Thursday.
The shot-stopper started his career in his country of birth with FC Porto's reserves before enjoying spells in the lower leagues with União Lamas, Vila Meã, Gil Vicente and Tirsense.
"I'm very pleased to be here, the welcome from the team was very, very nice," Margues said.
"It's a big club with high expectations and when I received the offer to come here I accepted quickly.
"The biggest teams need the biggest players and I'm here to help the other big names to do big things here."
The 35-year-old then moved to Angola in 2011 and spent four years in his ancestral home, which earned him a call-up to the national team, before returning to Portugal in 2015, where he most recently played for Farense.
Marques is the club's third goalkeeper signing of the season, following the arrivals of Bafana Bafana international Darren Keet and Bongani Mpandle, and the seventh new arrival overall.
