Cape Town Spurs finally registered their first win of the DStv Premiership season with a 2-1 victory over Orlando Pirates.
Pirates recalled Nkosinathi Sibisi, Bandile Shandu, Thabang Monare, Miguel Timm and Kermit Erasmus following last Friday's 1-1 draw against Polokwane City.
The Buccaneers didn't get off the ideal start when the host took the lead on just three minutes courtesy of a decent finish by Lubeni Haukongo.
Jose Riveiro's men were keen to get level instantly through a ball in-behind the defence, but Evidence Makgopa misdirected the flight of the delivery and saw the chance go abegging.
The Buccaneers were made to rue their missed openings, as Jarrod Moroole beat the offside trap to go level with Melusi Buthelezi and fire in at the second time of asking ten minutes before the break.
Pirates, however, got one back a minute to the interval as striker Makgopa made up for his earlier misses to and headed in from point-blank range for his first goal of the league season.
Sea Robbers coach Riveiro introduced Karim Kimvuidi and sacrificed Timm at the start of the second half, whilst the Urban Warriors made no changes.
Riveiro's men were keen to go level following the break with a header by Monare from a corner-kick, but he went wide.
Spurs brought on former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Surprise Ralani for his debut after arriving recently and stepped on the park for Luvuyo Phewa late in the second half.
The Buccaneers went in desperate search of the equaliser in the final minutes and had Patrick Maswanganyi's shot-on-the-turn in the area draw a remarkable save off Sam Ramsbottom.
Pirates went close again with the last effort of the game where substitute Vincent Pule headed off the side-netting from Shandu's cross, as Spurs bagged their first win of the season.
