Kaizer Chiefs cemented fourth spot on the DStv Premiership table with a 2-0 win over Golden Arrows on Saturday afternoon.
Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Itumeleng Khune were restored to the Chiefs line-up, but Khama Billiat and Ashley Du Preez missed out as the Amakhosi began life without Njabulo Blom.
The home team made the earlier intention when former Chiefs striker Ryan Moon looked to get one over his employers, but goalkeeper Khune made a remarkable block.
Bimenyimana though put the Amakhosi ahead with 15 minutes played after he dropped to the shoulder of the area and shielded a challenge before firing in off the post following Keagan Dolly's clipped pass.
The Burundian very nearly grabbed a second with a first-time strike on the half-hour mark from Reeve Frosler's pass, but Sifiso Mlungwana produced an acrobatic save.
Chiefs eventually bagged a second goal six minutes to halftime when defender Edmilson Dove slotted in from good persistence play in the area by Bimenyima as Arrows struggled to deal with a corner-kick.
As the host unleashed a change ahead of the resumption in Siyabonga Khumalo for Sazi Gumbi, the Amakhosi were under threat through a snap-shot from Khumalo but Khune was on hand to make the save.
The Amakhosi turned to the bench too midway in the second period and brought on Mduduzi Shabalala in the place of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.
With the minutes ticking away, the Soweto giants were inches away to a third inside the final 12 minutes after Shabalala beat the offside trap and went clean through but Mlungwana smothered.
In a tense and energised final stages, Arrows looked to bag a consolation but had Khumalo dismissed for a second bookable offence and went down 2-0 to the Amakhosi.
