Such has been his rise that besides featuring in the CHAN squad, he has since been able to get recognition for the national team proper and was on the bench for the Super Eagles’ FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March.
The 23-year-old has previously played for Turkish club Adanaspor and now has his sights set on the Betway Premiership, which is already home to Super Eagles first choice Stanley Nwabali.
Mustapha has caught the eye with his industrious midfield play and ability to score having had three goals to his name this season for Tornadoes.
