SAFA Head of Referees Abdul Ebrahim has confirmed plans to usher in football law changes ahead the 2024/25 season.
The IFAB, football lawmakers, announced and published at the beginning of July the new law changes that will affect the game ahead of the new campaign.
There has always been accusations that PSL referees are not consistent in applying the laws of the game and the new rules could create further confusion, especially with supporters who may not be privy to the new changes.
At times coaches get frustrated by referee decisions when the application of the laws of the game is not understood.

Ebrahim has revealed to KickOff that they will be conducting workshops to educate referees on the law changes and hopes they would also meet with clubs, so everyone is on the same page when the new season begins.
"There's quite a few law changes. Obviously these will be presented at our pre-season workshop," Ebrahim told KickOff.
"The referees will be taken through the changes, it's what we do on an annual basis.
"We're looking forward to that and hopefully soon some of our instructors will meet with clubs as well, so that we can take them through some these law changes," Ebrahim added.

Some of the law changes include:
The use of additional substitution(s) in case of a concussion injury.
A player will only receive a caution if he denies an opponent a clear goal-scoring opportunity and the foul results in a penalty-kick.
A player will be sent off if he handles the ball deliberately by denying an opponent a clear goal-scoring opportunity or goal - A non deliberate handball in this instance will result in only a caution.
An encroachment ahead of a penalty will only be penalized with a re-take if it affects the outcome.
There is also the option of temporary dismissal period and it remains to be seen if SAFA would adopt it.
