Richards Bay FC and TS Galaxy settled for a share of the spoils after playing to a goalless draw in the DStv Premiership on Sunday evening.
Well-travelled Vuyo Mere made his first start this season for Galaxy and Bernard Parker earned another outing too, while Luvuyo Memela who bagged the winner last time out started for Richards.
It was a quiet opening minutes where extremely limited openings in the final attacking third from the Natal Rich Boyz and the Rockets followed.
A range of corner-kicks from the Natal Rich Boyz very nearly presented the opening on their end in the middle of the first half, with Somila Ntsundwana unable to finish off the deliveries.
Galaxy struggled to contain the balls into the six-yard area from the Natal Rich Boyz before the half-hour mark, as goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi rushed off his line to evade this danger.
The Rockets started to find some courage following the underwhelming period and saw Parker fire a loose ball wide of the near corner from a teasing delivery.
In the second half, the struggle particularly in front of the goal from the two sets of teams continued amidst the promising spells in and out of possession.
Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic made a double change over 12 minutes in the second half, with Keletso Makgalwa in for Lindokuhle Mbatha before Kamogelo Sebelebele came in for Aphelele Teto.
Opportunities through balls in the danger area continued to set in from the two outfits, but they both lacked the necessary accuracy as Junior Traore entered for his Galaxy debut.
The chances, albeit half-hearted, went on until the additional minutes where no breakthrough came and in the end goalless it finished in Umlazi.
