'As much as I hate to see Swallows go, but...'

Despite being owed money by Moroka Swallows, Tlakusani Mthethwa is ready to close the old chapter and turn a new page at Richards Bay FC.

Mthethwa has found a new home in KwaZulu-Natal after signing with Richards Bay FC.

The 31-year-old joins several other players, including Fezile Gcaba,Thabiso Kutumela and Keegan Allan, who were all unveiled by the Natal Rich Boys during their sponsorship announcement on Wednesday.

Mthethwa turned down the opportunity of joining Marumo Gallants in favour of a move to the coast.

He remains amongst the players, including Andile Jali,Gabadihno Mhango and Dumisani Zuma, who are allegedly still owed outstanding payments by Swallows.

The Dube Birds'topflight status has since been sold to Gallants.

"That question is for somebody busy looking for that money. If you were professional during your days whilst playing, if it comes in, it will come. If it doesn't come, I don't know... I don't wanna fight for something I don't have with me because Swallows is no longer there," said Mthethwa when asked about the outstanding money.

"For part of the team being sold, at first I was not happy. I would suggest if they had a sponsor, maybe something would be much better going forward because it's a big team as well.

"But financially, in terms of other players who left, including myself, I would say it was a good thing to happen. As much I hate to see Swallows go, but for a player who retires, there is nothing on his wallet and you know how the community talks about players after retirement that we 'chowed' our investment and money.

"I think it's a good start for other people to take care of themselves financially. So, coming to Richards  Bay is a good thing for me and I am really happy to be here," he added.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa boss Abram Sello has confirmed that his team is attending to all legal issues, including matters about outstanding salaries that involve Swallows.
