KZN side unveils ex-Chiefs man plus R60m deal

Richards Bay FC have announced the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe, among several other new acquisitions, as well as a multi-million rand sponsorship deal.

In a press conference held on Wednesday morning, the Natal Rich Boyz unveiled a four new signings as a well a fresh R60 million sponsorship contract with Phakwe Gas for Africa.

The big-money deal is expected to continue for at least three years and is reported to include an additional R40 million.

The KZN outfit, who narrowly escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth, if not for their heroics in the dreaded play-offs, have a sent a signal of intent with the unveiling of several players to bolster their squad ahead of the new season. The most prominent among them being Sithebe.

He left Amakhosi at the end of his contract having made 39 appearance across his two seasons with the club.

In addition, former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Thabiso Kutumela also recently joined the side.

Another new arrival is centre-back Keagan Allan, who brings plenty of experience, having made 22 appearances last season in the colours of Moroka Swallows and SuperSport United.

The Natal Rich Boyz also unveiled midfielder Tlakusani Mthethwa, also previously with Swallows, as well as ABC Motsepe League stars Fezile Gcaba and Sbani Mtungwa.

Head coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has also been handed a fresh new deal after guiding the side outfit to safety.
