Former Pirates dribbling wizard set to remain in KZN

KickOff can reveal that Richards Bay FC are preparing to offer midfielder Ntsako Makhubela a new contract.

Makhubela became a revelation for Richards Bay towards the end of last season after joining the club in March this year.

The 30-year-old was amongst the players shown the door by Moroka Swallows after boycotting training in December last year owing to financial matters that besieged the side now under new ownership in Sello Abram.

Makhubela has also played for Orlando Pirates, Golden Arrows and AmaZulu FC in the PSL, before moving to join Swallows at the beginning of last season.

The Natal Rich Boyz have already confirmed the future of goalkeeper Salim Magoola in the team next season.

The Ugandan was on the wanted list of SuperSport United, prior to penning a three-year deal with the Jomo Biyela-owned outfit.

"The club is happy with Ntsako's contribution to the team towards the end of the season. He is amongst the players that played a big role in helping the club survive relegation.

"The club is keen to keep him and renew his contract for next season," said a source close to Richards Bay.

Meanwhile, the club is expected to confirm the future of coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi, who helped them secure their stay in the topflight after winning the relegation/promotion playoffs that also involved University of Pretoria and Baroka FC.
