DStv Prem team sets date for new coach reveal

Richards Bay has set a deadline for the announcement of their new head coach following the departure of Vasili Manousakis.

The The Natal Rich Boys have been in the market for solutions after a shocking decline in the league turned them from potential league title challengers to relegation candidates.

Richards Bay ended the season in 13th place without a win in the final five league matches and just from points from relegated Marumo Gallants.

Consequently, Vasili Manousakis was shown the door alongside assistants coach Pitso Dladla and Ronnie Gabriel.

Former Orlando Pirates coach Jose Zinnabaur was widely regarded as the leading candidate to take over the role, but the German has since taken up a role at Raja Casablanca, roping in Former Maritzburg United head coach Fadlu Davids as his assistant coach.

However, On Thursday, Richards Bay announced via their social media that a new head coach will be announced on Monday, alluding to that the role had been secured.

"The Club will officially announce the New Coach on Monday, 3 July 2023," the club said.

Possible candidates include Luc Eymal who narrowly lost out to Pablo Franco on the head coach role at AmaZulu, alongside Dan Malesela and Calvin Johnson.

Meanwhile Richards Bay has continued signing players ahead of the new season, with as many as seven new arrivals qhilw Maritzburg United are believed to be attempting to buy the club's status after falling to relegation.
