After the PSL, in its circular, made a surprising claim that Royal AM "misinterpreted material information", KickOff sought legal clarity for better understanding.
In its circular to Chairmen, Chief Executive Officers and member clubs, the League note three points on why they have recommended to the Board of Governors the cancellation of Royal AM.

Among them, in point b, the circular read:
"Royal AM misinterpreted material information to the League in its application for renewal submitted on 1 July 2024."
For legal clarity, we spoke to sports lawyer Tyrel Singh.
"This recommendation follows a finding that the club misrepresented material information, either in its initial membership application or in a subsequent renewal, which is required annually by 30 June under Article 10.4," Singh, a sports lawyer for SA Sports Law Association, wrote exclusively to this website.
"The misrepresentation constitutes a fundamental breach of the League's governance framework, undermining the integrity of membership criteria and the regulatory obligations imposed on all member clubs.
"The consequences of such non-compliance are compounded by the financial implications outlined in Article 10.15, which place liability on Royal AM for any outstanding debts owed to the League, its member clubs, officials, or players, while simultaneously barring the club from reclaiming any amounts previously paid to the League," explained Singh.
"Furthermore, (the fact that) Royal AM has failed to meet its obligations to the PSL in a manner consistent with the principles of good governance and fair competition has necessitated decisive action.

"In alignment with Article 10.16, the Executive Committee has exercised its discretion to escalate the matter to the Board of Governors, reinforcing the League's commitment to regulatory enforcement and accountability."
