EXCLUSIVE | Royal AM dismiss Zondo sacking claims

In an exclusive interview with KickOff, Royal AM owner Shauwn Mkhize has dismissed reports of yet another managerial change with the alleged departure of co-coach Khabo Zondo.

Reports broke on Monday that Zondo was not part of the travelling party for the visit to SuperSport United at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium for a DStv Premiership clash on Tuesday.

It can be confirmed that Zondo is indeed not with the matchday squad but has not left the club.

"Coach Zondo is training the players that were left behind," Mkhize reveals to KickOff.

"Because we've got two teams he is with the team that have remained behind at the farm [training base]."

A cheerful Zondo could be heard in the background confirming that training would be starting at 09:00, putting to bed any reports of a departure.

"So, I don't know anything about him being sacked," Mkhize continued.

"Why must we explain why he has not travelled with the team? Why must we do that?

"The thing is we are playing in the league, and we've got two squads, so we can't afford to experience problems in our next matches.

"We feel like there is something big going on to unsettle our camp.

"Remember we had three co-coaches, we had Nteo, we had Khabo, we had Dan Malesela, then Dan left.

"Now we are left with Nteo and Khabo. Hence, I said to people they must stop sending me CVs, I've got Nteo and Khabo. I'm fine."

"I don't need a coach, I'm fine. Si- grand as a club."
