IMPORTANT UPDATE: Royal AM versus Nurkovic case

The ongoing dispute in the matter involving Royal AM and Samir Nurkovic has reached yet another chapter of updates, which will leave the KwaZulu-Natal outfit in the 'sin bin'.

Nurkovic took up his breach of contract with FIFA after failing to reach an agreement over a settlement for the contract he signed after joining Royal AM from Kaizer Chiefs.

Then after FIFA's award went in Nurkovic's favour last year and subsequently put a three-window ban on Royal AM, the club took the matter on appeal against the player and the world governing body to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The initial CAS hearing was on May 13.

CAS then extended their deadline on the issuing of their decision to September 13.

The latest information reaching this website is that CAS has again communicated with all parties.

"The deadline for communicating the Arbitral Award to the Parties has been extended until October 11, 2024," this website has been informed.

This means the current window will close on September 20 with Royal AM still not able to make any new signings as the FIFA ban will remain in place pending the CAS decision.

Royal AM's transfer ban in this case came into effect on July 3, 2023.

An amount of more than R10 million (with 5% interest per annum) is under dispute as payment due to the Serbian, who is now playing for TS Galaxy.
