Elias 'Dominguez' Pelembe's incredible football journey will see the veteran attacker represent Mozambique at next year's AFCON tournament in the twilight of his career at 40 years old.
Pelembe was captain yet again as Mozambique overcame Rwanda 2-0 in Kigali on Sunday to secure the second qualification ticket in Group L.

With the 2-0 win, The Mambas have moved to seven points and join Senegal in qualifying from the group with a game to spare.
Pelembe started the game on Sunday in a line-up featuring Edmilson Dove of Kaizer Chiefs and Stanley Ratifo, who trained with Amakhosi in December 2022.
Geny Catamo and Clesio Bauque scored the two goals for the visitors with Pelembe just over an hour before he was taken off.
After having been in the squad the last time Mozambique qualified for the finals in 2010, Pelembe will now head to the Ivory Coast having already turned 40.

The 2023 tournament will be played from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
Pelembe turns 40 on November 13 and has captained Mozambique since 2015.
The exciting winger has played in South Africa since 2007 and there has been absolutely nothing to suggest that he has slowed down in being able to compete in the DStv Premiership.
The veteran played 29 games in the just ended 2022/23 season with a return of seven goal contributions (three goals and four assists).
