Royal AM in talks with former Maritzburg keeper

DStv Premiership outfit Royal AM are in talks to sign former Maritzburg United goalkeeper King Ndlovu.

According to a source close to the player's camp, Ndlovu has agreed to join Royal AM even though the club face an impending transfer ban.

The KwaZulu-Natal club have been ordered to pay Serbian striker Samir Nurkovic an outstanding amount of R12 million in compensation.

"King Ndlovu has agreed to join the club, but the transfer ban is a huge stumbling block," a source tells KickOff.

"Things are going to be difficult at the club this season as they cannot sign any players.

"It also remains to be seen how long Ndlovu is prepared to wait for Royal AM."

Royal AM begin their 2023/24 campaign with a league clash against AmaZulu FC at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 17:30.
