The former Malawi international's departure came as a surprise having led the club to a position three finish and qualification to the CAF Confederation Cup last season.

Yet at Maritzburg his stay was disappointing and short after replacing Ernst Middendorp following the German gaffer's fourth stint with the KwaZulu-Natal club.
From the 13 games that he took charge of he only won twice – against Orlando Pirates and Chippa United – drew five and lost six before being shown the door at the beginning of November.
