Royal AM appear set to unleash new signing Happy Jele during the upcoming last 16 Nedbank Cup clash against rivals Golden Arrows.
Jele, who signed for Thwihli Thwahla in January has not made a single competitive appearances for his new club as he had to serve an outstanding suspension from his time with the Buccaneers.
However, speaking to journalists at the last 16 Nedbank Cup media briefing on Thursday, Maduka hinted that the veteran defender could feature on Saturday..
"He [Jele] is available for selection, we can't go further than that. He trained today, he will train on Friday and the game is on Saturday so we still have three days [to see how ready he is]," Maduka said.
A concern form Maduka and his technical team is around Jele's match- fitness. Although the 36-year-old kept himself in shape during his hiatus, he has not played any Premiership or competitive football since parting ways with the Buccaneers at the start of start of the season.
Royal AM are now is a race against time to get the defender, whose experience will be vital, back to match condition.
Jele is no stranger to the nature of the Nedbank Cup, having already lifted the coveted trophy twice with eight-time winners Orlando Pirates during his illustrious career.
